Rescue You (Love in Brighton Village Book 5)

About

A story of second chances, friendship and betrayal…and the way dogs can rescue hearts.

Lark Eamon has always lived a life on the outside. As someone who hears dogs’ thoughts, she’s been ridiculed and ostracized. Over the years, she’s learned to deny her gift. She’s built a solid reputation as a dog trainer and owner of a canine center dedicated to dogs’ happiness.

Until one autumn day, when everything falls apart. Max the Terrible, a terrier who’s used up all his chances, lands on her doorstep. The best friend who betrayed her in high school has come back to Brighton and wants to reconnect. Her brother’s best friend, who she once had a crush on, struggles with PTSD. Her landlord has just announced that he won’t renew her lease. And the local dog shelter grapples with an influx of rescue dogs who need a forever home.

She has less than a month to find a new place for her center, run the annual dog Adopt-a-Thon at the Pumpkin Festival…and find Max a new home.

As she juggles all her obligations, she struggles with her inability to rescue everything and everyone. When everything she’s built falls apart, she discovers that vulnerability can open life in ways she’d never imagined.

Resources

Here are a few resources I’ve used to deal with anxiety:

Dr. Kim D’Eramo — She offers great free resources on her website, including the Instant Elevation Tool, sleep meditation, and EFT videos.

The Tapping Solution — They offer some free tapping scripts in their blogs and have an app that offers hundreds of tapping meditations for just about everything. There’s solid science behind EFT and you can find out more about that too.

Empower You — This is an app offered by Hay House. It has hundreds of meditations, audiobooks, and programs.

Eco Meditation — This is a meditation offered by Dawson Church. This meditation rewires your brain to better handle emotions.

Praise for this book

If you're a fan of feel-good romances set against the backdrop of a close-knit community, "Rescue You" is a must-read. Sylvie Kurtz has outdone herself with this one, and I can’t wait to dive into the next book in the series!

There's poignant moments, there's heartwarming moments, romance and a lovely dog.
It checks all my boxes. Recommended.

Rescue You is an emotional journey in which a snarky, bacon-obsessed little dog helps two lost souls let go of the past and embrace the future. A must-read and Kurtz's best work yet!

Sylvie’s storytelling is emotionally charged, complete with heart-pounding anticipation, tissue-grabbing sentiments, and peppermint tea kind of comfort…perfect sweater weather reading.

As with all the other Brighton stories, get cozy and comfortable because once you start this one you want to keep reading. Dogs everywhere, characters you want to know for real and the always heartfelt writing that make you want yet another tale.
